Such a boy!

This past weekend we went with some friends to their cabin.  John and Xander got on the 4-wheeler to take a ride.  John told Alexander to help him remember the way they went so they could make it back to the cabin.  Xander said, "Don't worry dad, I've got a GPS in my head".

On the same trip, Xander kept having to go to the bathroom.  After one occasion he said, "Dad, do you still think I pee like a race car?"

Snow in March?

Last week it snowed about a foot.  Alexander said to me on the way to school, "Mom, when I looked out the window today I pondered this for 2 minutes: Why is it snowing when it's March?"

I love it when he ponders.

Not yet, please!

So we were invited to the Blue & Gold Banquet tonight because Xander will be a Cub Scout this year. He was beyond excited until he found out we were coming with him. "But dad, I just want to go and be with my friends!" Isn't he supposed to be a teenager before he doesn't want to be seen with his parents?

Love

Yesterday I spoke in church.  On the way home, Xander says, "Mom, you did really good on your talk.  Do you know what your talk did to me? It put love in my heart!"

Best compliment ever.

I'm special

As I was putting Xander to bed tonight he said, "Mommy, you are so special.  Do you know why?"  I said, "No, why?"  He said, "Because I love you.  Mommies whose sons love them are special."

I am SO special.

Stretch Armstrong

Xander has been learning about the Apollo moon landings and he has recently learned to quote, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
John asked him who said that. He couldn't remember so he told him it was Neil Armstrong. He says, "Oh yeah! Wait. Doesn't he ride bikes now?"

Duh!

Sunday morning John woke up and said, "Man, my back hurts."  Alexander said, "That's because you're sleeping on springs! You need to be sleeping on a Sleep Number Bed."
